The Bowel Screening Programme offers free screening to eligible residents aged 60-74 years, every two years. This programme is being implemented by each DHB in turn.
Invitations will be sent out by the Bowel Screening programme.
Set Up
When you have patients in a DHB that has started bowel screening you will need to activate the bowel screening form.
The URL for the bowel screening form is entered in your system settings in the web forms section. Please contact the helpdesk for assistance.
An auto-suggestion can be added to your suggestions list to prompt users to create a task when a patient matches the eligibility criteria.
Request Test Kits
If your patient has not been invited/sent a kit you can request a test kit by completing and sending the Bowel Screening Programme Form.
Select Bowel Screening Programme in the forms list.
Select Please send a test kit, Press Send.
Withdraw patient from the bowel screening programme
Select Bowel Screening Programme in the forms list.
Select Patient wants to be withdrawn from the prograame, Press Send.
Patients Not Suitable for Screening
Select Bowel Screening Programme in the forms list.
Select Patient not suitable for screening
Select the reason(s) from the list that is displayed .
Press Send.
Bowel Screening Task
Check the Recall Task
Set the task for 2 yearly recurrences
When a result is received from the bowel screening programme, if normal complete the task to reset it for a further 2 years.
